In Neverwinter we have Hunt Systems to obtain different kind of items like gear pieces, artifact items, etc.

There are some old and outdated Hunts in the game but the new ones are important. We will talk about these new ones now:

Dragon Hunts

Dragon Hunts came with Mod23 and it brought back the Dragons to Neverwinter. There are 3 types of dragons to fight against: Young, Adult and Ancient.

Once you start the Dragonslayer campaign you gain access to Dragon Hunts. You will find it in your Queue menu and will see that Young dragons are solo dungeons but the rest need a party: Adults need a group of 3 players (no role requirements), Ancients need a group of 5 (1 Tank, 1 Healer, 3 DPS).

The goal is to farm Ancient Dragon Hunts to acquire currencies to buy gears from the campaign store.

There are Hunt Modifiers you can use on hunts. Each modifier has 3 ranks from Tier 1 to Tier 3. Modifiers harden the dungeon in one hand and give more rewards at the end in the other. You will need more modifiers to get enough currency for gear pieces.

Quick tip: In the campaign you have Dragon Hunter Rank. This goes higher and higher as you kill dragons in Dragon Hunts. BUT! It has stages: Young Dragons count till Rank 25, Adult Dragons till Rank 50 and from there on only Ancient Dragons count.

  • Dragons Bane companion power, 11% at mythic

  • Wondrous Dragon, 6% at legendary. From mod 22 pre-event, so rare

  • Dragon slayer overloads from SH, 10% and 5% versions

  • Mightbreaker's Ring of Elegance, 10%. Mythical from Dragon Hunt store

  • Potion of Dragon Slaying, up to 10%

Abyssal Hunts

Abyssal Hunt System

Hunts are needed to buy: insignias, enchants, combat enchants, vanity pets from CAMPAIGN STORE, and for upgrading the Menzoberranzan (Bregan D’Aerthe) items.

Modifiers

As usual they are on keys inventory and have the same pattern of Dragonhunts modifiers: They have 3 ranks or tier, and needed currency plus AD for the upgrade: Rank 1 - 5k AD and 100 Abyssal Fragment Rank 2 - 20k AD and 300 Abyssal Fragment Rank 3 - 40k AD and 500 Abyssal Fragment

At the start of the campaign we want to maximize the Rotating Chaos modifier since its the only one which will give us Abyssal Fragments as reward. For maximized a modifier we need a total of 65k AD and 900 Abyssal Fragment. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to do when we start to do Abyssal Hunts will be take and complete the weekly quest called “Hunting the Abyss”! When we complete it will grants us 20 Abyssal Essence and 500 Abyssal Fragments!

To unlock them we have to start the campaign. There are 3 kind of hunts: 1) Lesser Abyssal Hunts (you can use only one modifiers) 2) Abyssal Hunts (you can use only two modifiers) 3) Greater Abyssal Hunts (you can use only three modifiers)

  • Hunts are just for character wide and not instance, so everyone of us have their own hunts.

  • Hunts can be done in party, but when you are doing them in party the game will remove the hunts also for who don’t activate it.

  • Opening the chest will grants: Lesser -> 50 Abyssal Fragments Normal -> 60 Abyssal Fragments Greater -> 75 Abyssal Fragments

  • Using a maxed modifier in Hunts will grants a different reward based on which one you will use.

  • You can do hunts every time they spawn.

  • Seems there's a time until they spawn again (20-30 min TBC)
