CR, Caps, Diminishing Return

Combined Rating

A special gear stat is "Combined Rating", often seen on gear items. It represents all the stats, meaning that if you see a gear item with 500 CR, it means that item gives 500 rating points to all 15 stats.

A gear item with 250 Power and 500 CR will add 750 total to power and 500 points to the rest of the stats each.

Stat Caps

The rating is translated into percentages, and can be at most 50% (hard cap), other sources that added directly to the percent can increase it up to a total of 90% (hard cap with some exceptions). Note that those non-rating sources are not capped at 40% for a 50% + 40% = 90% total.

The 90% cap can be reached for example, by 36% from translating rating points, and 54% more from direct percentage contributions.

Diminishing Return

First of all there is one thing to cover it all: damage bonus ≠ damage increase

Let's say you get a 10% damage bonus from your weapons, but it may not result in 10% damage increase, because of how the damage formula math works. The more damage bonus you have on your character, less relative damage increase you will get from per increase.

  • With a small example:

    • Let's say you have 10% dmg bonus on your char, and you add another 7.5% damage bonus, then it will be:

      • 7.5 * 100 / (10+100) = 6.82% dmg increase

    • Let's say you have 50% dmg bonus on your char, and you add another 7.5% damage bonus, then it will be:

      • 7.5 * 100 / (50+100) = 5% dmg increase

You would get the full benefit from the damage bonus, only if you don't have any other damage bonuses on your character. So if you get 7.5% dmg bonus when you had 0% bonus before, it will still be 7.5% dmg increase overall. But more dmg bonus you have, the less relative dmg increase it will result in.
